Two storied programs square off in Newport on Friday, Nov. 27th for the right to play for the Class 2A State Championship, as the Danville Admirals square off with the Thoroughbreds of Newport Catholic. Danville comes into the game winner of 10 straight, while the Breds are victors of the last 6 of 7 contest.
NewCath comes into this game having won 13 consecutive state semifinals contests, including 10 since 2000. The Breds only state semi-final setback was an 8-7 loss in 1983 to Somerset on a missed 18 yd FG in the final seconds of the game.
