The NKU men's basketball team is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school's history. This was also their first year eligible to make the tournament, which makes it even that more amazing!
Second year head coach, John Brannen, has brought a winning mentality to NKU and you could see it when his team played in the Horizon League tournament. They defeated Wright St. 82-77 in the first round, then beat Youngstown St. 84-74 in the Semifinals. And last night they held off a very stingy Milwaukee team 59-53 to win the Horizon League Championship on ESPN.
The buzz in Northern Ky is the NKU Norse basketball team! NKU is now 24-10, have won 6 straight and are 10-1 in the last 11 games.
It will be awesome to see NKU as part of selection Sunday when teams and brackets are announced!
