| Three NKY Teams Reach State Semi-Finals |

Newport Central Catholic, Covington Catholic and Ryle each won in Round 3 of the Kentucky State Football playoffs to move on to the Semi-Finals next weekend.
NCC 46 Raceland 27
In 1A action, NewCath started the game by fumbling and turning over the opening kickoff. Raceland went on to score a TD after the TO and at one point was up 13-3. NCC hung in there though and scored a TD right before halftime making the score 20-16. NCC then took over in the third quarter by scoring 23 unanswered points taking a 39-20 lead into the 4th quarter and a win over the Rams of Raceland.
Next week, NewCath will be on the road again vs. Somerset (9-4) who had beaten Hazard 48-21. *** GAME TIME HAS BEEN SWITCHED TO 6:00 PM ***
CovCath 56 LexCath 49
As the score indicates, this game was all about OFFENSE. And just when you thought CovCath had this game in the bag, things started to go the Knight's way. CovCath was up 42-28 and Josh Bleser was just about to score another TD to make it 49-28 but he fumbled the ball into the Knight's end-zone for a Touchback. LexCath scored 2 TD's right after that to tie the game at 42. But, the Colonels were able to outscore the Knight's at the end of the game.
Next week, CovCath will play at undefeated Johnson Central (13-0) who had beaten Rockcastle County 29-7.
Ryle 31 Meade County 0
Ryle continues to represent the NKY 4A Class well with a solid win over Meade County. Ryle jumped out to a 14-0 lead and never looked back. The score was 24-0 at halftime and Meade County's offense was non-existent this evening.
Next week, Ryle will host Henderson County (10-2) who had beaten Warren Central 42-28.
