Regional baseball play began in Northern Kentucky on Monday as teams in the 8th, 9th and 10th Regions started their road to the Kentucky State Baseball Tournament.
In the 9th Region, Ryle, Beechwood, Dixie and CovCath won their first round games to advance to the semi-finals. The closest game was Dixie vs Highlands as Dixie went on to win 2-1 in 8 innings. Tuesday evening will feature Beechwood vs Ryle and Dixie vs CovCath.
In the 10th Region, Brossart and Scott won their first round games. Up next for the two 10th Region teams, Scott vs George Rogers Clark and Brossart vs Harrison County.
And in the 8th Region, Simon Kenton advances and will play Owen County next.
