| Girls All A Classic Begins This Week |

Newport Catholic is looking to repeat their 9th Region All A Classic Championship from last year when they defeated Villa Madonna to advance to the All A State Classic. Last year, the Breds made it to the State Quarterfinals where they lost to Lexington Christian 70-56.
This year, NewCath will face Villa Madonna earlier in the tournament on Wednesday night as the Breds are favored to win the 9th Region All A Classic again. Last night Villa Madonna defeated Holy Cross 43-39.
In the 10th Region, Bishop Brossart will try to avenge for last year's 10th Region All A Classic Championship loss to Paris. Brossart will face Paris in the opening round this Thursday.
The 2009 Girls All "A" Classi State Tournament runs January 28 - February 1 at Eastern Kentucky University. The 9th Region winner will play the 14th Region winner while the 10th Region winner will face the 6th Region winner for the opening round of the state tournament on Wednesday, January 28.
