| NewCath and Calvary Christian Headed to State |

The boys' teams from Newport Central Catholic and Calvary Christian won their respective Regions, 9th and 10th, to advance to this year's All A Classic State Tournament.
In the 9th Region, NewCath defeated Newport 53-47 in the Championship game, just one day after defeating St. Henry 67-58 in a very physical game that went into overtime. For the 10th Region, Calvary Christian defeated Deming 58-54. Both teams will play this Thursday in the Touchstone Energy All A Classic at Eastern Kentucky University.
NewCath (10-7) will face Danville (8-7) at 9:30 PM while Calvary Christian (10-6) faces Pineville (14-8) at 5:00 PM.
2009 Boys All A Classic Bracket
For the girls bracket, NewCath (13-6) will play June Buchanan (9-7) on Wednesday, January 28 at 10:30 AM.
