It's hard to believe we're heading into Week 7 for Northern Kentucky Football, but it's definitely that time of the year where the weather cools off and the football action warms up! Some teams, such as Highlands, haven't begun District play yet, and the Bluebirds (6-0) will start their District play against Dixie (3-3). Highlands is coming off a monumental win over St. Xavier OH last week 12-7, but they will be short their starting quarterback, Will Bardo, who's expected to be out 4-6 weeks. Sophmore, Patrick Towles, will take over the QB duties, and expect to see a big dose of Austin Collinsworth over the next several weeks.
Boone County (2-3) at Conner (5-1)
This could possibly be the most competitive game for NKY football this weekend. Boone County ran all over Campbell County last week enroute to a 49-12 win, while Conner suffered their first defeat against the running attack of Simon Kenton 56-14. If Conner's defense can stop the Rebel's running back, Charles Quainoo (854 rush yards and 8 TDs), this game should go down to the wire.
Ryle (4-1) at Campbell County (2-3)
Ryle's only loss came to Highlands and their average margin of points for their wins equals 31. The Raiders can beat you on the ground and through the air so the Camels will have their work cut-out for them. You can also watch this game LIVE right here on NKYSports.com.
NewCath (1-5) at Newport (2-3)
Both teams begin their District play on Friday while the Breds will try and stop their 3 game losing streak. NewCath has won the past five years but the Wildcats could make this game more competitive this year.
