The OMEGA Processing Game of the Week webcast this week features NewCath (0-1) at Cooper (1-0). This game was originally scheduled to be played at Newport Stadium but was moved to Cooper due to the new turf field not being ready for play yet.
NewCath is coming off a tough loss to Scott last week 8-7. The Breds were up in the middle of the 4th Quarter until they had a fumble returned for a TD with a 2-point conversion to follow. They will face even a tougher opponent in the Jaguars who come off a huge win over Highlands 37-13. Senior RB Torey Cordell-Armstrong led Cooper with 180 rush yards and 3 TD’s. Overall Cooper is 2-0 against NewCath and won last year 31-0.
Game of the Week Replay
Last week’s Game of the Week featured Lloyd vs Walton-Verona. Charles Gaines was our OMEGA Processing Player of the Game as Lloyd defeated Walton-Verona 28-20. Gaines caught 5 passes for 73 yards and 1 TD, he also rushed for 22 yards and added a rushing TD.
Scott at Dixie
Dixie (0-0) opens their season hosting Scott (1-0) who edged NewCath last week 8-7. Dixie had a great season last year going 13-2 and lost to Trinity in the Class 6A State Championship, but they lose a lot from that team. Since 2005, the Colonels are 6-0 against the Eagles. Can Scott turn that around this weekend?
Campbell County at Highlands
Campbell County (0-1) fell just short against East Central IN last week 24-21 while Highlands lost to Cooper 37-13. So both teams will be hungry for their first win this weekend. The Bluebirds beat the Camels last year 23-16.
Boone County at Conner
This is also Conner’s season opener as they host Boone County (0-1). Last week the Rebels lost to LexCath 51-6 so they will look to rebound on a tough loss. Since 2005 these teams are 5-5 against each other. Last year Boone County won 49-26.
Dayton at Bellevue
This river city rivalry has been lopsided the past 8 years with Bellevue winning the past 8 games. Last week Dayton lost to Brossart 35-0 while Bellevue beat Gallitin County 35-20.
