The OMEGA Processing Game of the Week webcast this week features Lloyd (5-2) at NewCath (3-4). This is a huge District game between these Class 2A schools. The past three years Lloyd has come into this game with similar records but came out with a loss. And since 2007 when NewCath moved to Class 2A they have not lost a regular season District game going 29-0.
Lloyd will look to stop NewCath’s Senior RB Jacob Smith. Smith has accumulated some big games the past few weeks and now has 632 rush yards and 8 TD’s. On the other side, NewCath will have to try and stop several offense threats. The Juggernauts are led by Junior RB Justin Durham and Senior WR Charles Gaines. Durham has rushed for 519 yards and 7 TD’s while the 6’3 Gaines has 31 receptions for 537 yards and 7 TD’s.

Highlands at CovCath (Saturday)
Highlands (2-5) has won the last 13 games against CovCath (2-5) but many believe this is the year the Colonels break that streak. These two teams typically don’t come into this game with losing records but it’s a huge District game with the winner most probably having the home field advantage for the playoffs. Both teams are coming off District wins from last week with the Bluebirds defeating Dixie 42-7 and the Colonels beating Grant County 47-9.
Brossart at Paris
These two teams sit atop the Class 1A District 5 standings and the winner will have the home field advantage for the playoffs. Both teams come into this game undefeated at 7-0 so this should be a great match-up. Brossart defeated Bracken County last week 36-0 while Paris beat Nicholas County 12-7. This is also the first game ever between the two schools.
Bellevue at Dayton
Both these teams have had a down season but this is always a great river city match-up between the 2 neighboring schools. Bellevue (2-5) has lost 5 in a row with their last win coming against Dayton (1-6) back in August 42-0. Dayton’s offense has improved since then though, and look for them to put some points up this game. Bellevue has won the last 9 games.
