The Holy Cross Indians walked onto the field Saturday knowing it would be a tough game. They knew if they gave it their all, they could walk off with their first ever victory over Newport Central Catholic. The confidence in the begining of the game is what lead the Indians to a 10-7 victory.
NCC was the first to score but it didn't take long for the Indians to counter with a score of their own. A field goal was kicked by Sean Dornbusch making the score 7-3. The score held up into half-time with the Breds in the lead. The Indians took the lead when number 25, Jeremy Cross, caught a 41-yard pass and scored the Indians first touch down of the game. Sean Dornbusch kicked the extra point raising the score 10-7. Both teams played very well but were unable to score the rest of the game.
This game brings the Indians to a 4-1 record and the Breds to a 1-4 record. The Indians followed their team motto at "We all we got" and surely gave their best at this amazing victory for Holy Cross Football.
