OMEGA/ProScan Game of the Week - Campbell Co at NCC
9/1/2016 - by NKS Editor
The OMEGA Processing / ProScan Imaging Game of the Week webcast features Campbell County (1-1) at NewCath (1-1) on Friday.

The Camels are coming off one of the biggest wins in their football program’s history as they defeated Highlands last week 24-21 on a last second FG by Nic Mayer. Meanwhile, the Breds lost to Cooper last week 45-14. NewCath won this game last year 28-19 and are 5-4 against Campbell County since 2007 but the Camels are to be reckoned with after their signature win over Highlands.

Campbell County has a good offensive trio between Junior RB Alex Dowds, Junior QB Austin Hoeh, and Junior WR Nic Mayer. In the first 2 games Dowds has rushed for 185 yards and 1 TD while Hoeh has thrown for 445 yards and 2 TD’s and rushed for 127 yards and 1 TD. And Hoeh’s favorite target Mayer already has 14 catches for 269 yards.

NewCath is led by Senior QB Patrick Henschen who has 187 yards in the air and 114 yards on the ground combining for 4 TD’s. The Breds’ Junior RB Jason Decker also has 169 rush yards and 2 TD’s. NewCath will need a good rushing attack to win this game.

NKYSports.com Replay – Dixie vs Scott

Scott County at Highlands
It doesn’t get any easier for Highlands (1-1) as Class 6A Scott County (2-0) ranks as one of the top teams in the state. The Cardinals have wins over Tates Creek (47-20) and Pulaski County (48-19). Last year the Bluebirds lost to Scott County 54-28.

Bellevue at Brossart
Bellevue (0-2) is looking for their first Win of the season as they take on Bishop Brossart (1-1). The Tigers lost a close one to Dayton last week 14-13 (another postponed game), while the Mustangs got drilled by Aiken 50-14. Brossart did win easily over Dayton in the first game of the season so lets see if that translates into another ‘W’ for Brossart. The Mustangs are 1-4 against Bellevue but won their first game every against them last year 24-21.

Conner at Simon Kenton
Conner (1-0) won their season opener against Boone County 36-7 but will have their hands full this week with Simon Kenton (2-0). The Pioneers won over Bryan Station last week 50-7 and are ranked #1 in our NKYSports.com rankings.
