HS Football - CovCath vs Kings Discussion
9/8/2017 - by Bluegrass Preps
CovCath takes the 45 minute bus ride up I-71 to play the King's Knights in an interstate battle. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm Friday at King's Stadium.

King's is a D-II school from the Cincinnati suburbs that currently sits 1 - 1 on the season, beating Lebanon 37 - 31 and losing last week to Lakota East by a score of 34 - 27 in a close game. My King's contact was worried about offensive production heading into the season after losing quite a bit of offensive fire power from last year's 8 - 3 Knight's playoff team. However, Nak'emon Williams, a 5'10" 165 pound junior (#6 in your press guide) has stepped up to average an impressive 217.5 yards per game (11.4 yards per carry) while hitting pay dirt for 6 rushing touchdowns. Quite an improvement from his sophomore season average of 59 yards per game. CovCath struggled last year to shut down upper tier running backs, so it will be interesting to watch Williams and the much improved CovCath defense get after it.

On defense King's gives up an average of 32.5 points per game, so CovCath's offense should be able to move the ball and score points.

CalPreps ratings:
CovCath 44.8
King's 26.3

Questions for the game:

1) Can the Colonel defense slow down Williams?
2) If not, can the Colonel offense put enough points on the board to win the game?
3) Should I make a day of it and hit King's Island before taking in the football game?
