Exciting Night for NKY Football |

The last week of regular season play provided much excitement for NKY High School football fans. To start off with, the most anticipated game of the year, Covcath at Highlands, provided the most excitement as the teams exchanged scores on each position of the last quarter. Fortunately, for CovCath, they still had the ball left with 3 seconds left on Highlands 3-yard line, and Josh Bleser threw a TD pass with no time left to lift the Colonels over the Bluebirds.
In the rival game between Dayton and Bellevue, the teams went into overtime tied at 13. Dayton scored a TD and an extra point in the first OT, and Bellevue countered with their own TD but went for the 2-point conversion and came up short. And, the Newport Wildcats traveled to Lloyd where they hung on to win 13-7. Lloyd scored a late TD to make the game interesting but Lloyd didn't have enough time to make the comeback.
Boone County, Campbell County, NewCath, and Beechwood took care of business as usual with wins over Conner, Holmes, Bracken County, and Holy Cross respectively.
The Dixie vs. Ryle game was moved to Saturday at 7PM because of field conditions.
