A couple weeks ago Campbell County defeated Boone County 48-21 at home. After a loss to Dixie at home, Campbell County got the #4 seed for their CLASS 4A District and Boone County received the #1 seed. This game was figured to be a good, close game, and that it was.
No team led by more than 7 points and was tied at halftime, at the end of the 3rd quarter, and at the end of regulation. In overtime, Boone County was unable to score on their possession, and Campbell County finished this great game with a 21-yard field goal and a final of 31-28.
In other NKY football playoff action, CLASS A had NewCath revenge their earlier loss to Holy Cross with a 41-7 win on Friday, while Beechwood took care of business against Dayton 45-6. Next week, NCC and Beechwood will match-up again at Beechwood.
In CLASS AA Newport won 34-0 over Spencer County and Lloyd lost to Mercer County 54-7. Newport will face Mercer County next week on the road.
CLASS AAA action only had Highlands playing this evening and they had an easy time with South Oldham with a 41-19 win. Highlands will play the winner of the Grant County/CovCath game being played tomorrow.
And, the other CLASS AAAA game featured Dixie at Ryle. Ryle went into halftime with a 21-12 lead and added a second-half FG to defeat Dixie 24-12. Ryle will host Campbell County next week.
