|
11/9/2006 - by NKS Editor |

If you're looking for an exciting weekend of NKY High School football, this is the weekend you've been waiting for. Seven Northern Kentucky area High Schools still remain in the football playoffs, but after this weekend that number will drop to three or four. This is the weekend of rematches!
CLASS A
NCC vs Beechwood
On Sept 30 Beechwood made a huge comeback to defeat the 'Breds 28-21. At one point, NCC was up 21-3. Look for this to be another very close game.
CLASS AA
Newport vs Mercer County
Mercer County has not lost a game yet this year and is 11-0. Newport lost to Mercer earlier in the year 27-6 and will have their work cut out for them if they want to advance in the playoffs.
CLASS AAA
Highlands vs Covington Catholic
Just two weeks ago Josh Bleser threw a TD pass with no time left to defeat the 'Birds 29-27 at Highlands. This game will be played at CovCath on Saturday and should provide plenty of fireworks like the previous game.
CLASS AAAA
Campbell County vs Ryle
Campbell County won an exciting OT game vs Boone County last week 31-28 and will now take on Ryle who had defeated Dixie 24-12. In their last meeting Ryle had won 34-7, but that was back in mid-September and the Camels have gone 6-1 since then.
NKY.com will be broadcasting the NCC vs. Beechwood game and the Campbell County vs. Ryle game on Friday. BROADCASTS
