On Monday evening at Calvary Christian, Bellevue Lady Tigers' Senior Mindy Merritt made a shot for two points, like she had done so many times before. However, these two points were special. These two points catapulted Merritt over the 1,000-Point mark, making her the 7th player in Bellevue High School history to achieve this milestone.
“I've worked hard and long for this. It feels great to have reached my goal, and be only the 7th to do it in Bellevue,” said Merritt, who accepted the game ball from the Calvary game on Wednesday night from Bellevue Head Coach Bev Smith.
The Lady Tigers are off to a quick start this season at 4-1, the only loss coming against Holmes on Wednesday evening. A large part of this success is due to Merritt’s inside presence. Bellevue will send their 4-1 record to Villa Madonna on Saturday.
