ARTICLE	Holmes Wins 9th Region 3/12/2008 - by NKS Editor Sweet 16 Broadcasts Boys Kentucky Sweet 16 Bracket The Holmes Bulldogs defeated CovCath tonight 64-50 advancing to the Kentucky Sweet 16 State Basketball Tournament for the second straight year. The first half was close but Holmes started to pull away in the 3rd quarter and never looked back. Holmes (31-2) will play the 5th Region winner, Bardstown (23-7), next Wednesday March 19 at 8:00 PM in Rupp Arena. In the 8th Region, Shelby County rallied back to win over Gallatin County 49-48. Shelby County tied the game with 6.2 seconds left and converted the free throw and Gallatin County was not able to score at the buzzer. In the 10th Region, Mason County defeated Montgomery 82-61.
