| Four NKY Teams Going for State |

Last year, Northern Kentucky had 3 football teams make it to the State Finals (Beechwood, NewCath & Highlands). This year, the same 3 teams are looking to repeat their visit, and Simon Kenton is looking to join them. On Friday, December 5, these teams will play in the Kentucky State Semi-Finals for Class 1A, 2A, 5A and 6A.

CLASS 1A
Crittenden County (10-3) at Beechwood (12-1)

CLASS 2A
NewCath (12-1) at Corbin (13-0)
Last year, these two teams played in the playoffs on NewCath's home field where the Breds won 28-16. This year, NewCath will travel to Corbin to face the Redhounds.
CLASS 5A
Highlands (12-1) at Whitley County (12-1)

Coach Jim Black has turned the Whitley County Colonels football program completely around. The past two years, Whitley County has a combined record of 4-17, but this year is a different story with a turn-around record of 12-1. This is the first ever semi-final game for the Colonels.
CLASS 6A
Simon Kenton (9-4) at Male (9-4)
Can the Simon Kenton Pioneers keep the magic alive? Simon Kenton has won their past 6 games with 2 of those playoff wins against teams they had lost to earlier in the year.
