Kentucky Claws Back in Win Over Florida |

In probably one of the toughest games Kentucky will play all season, the Wildcats come out ahead against Florida last night 68-65. Jodie Meeks scored 10 points in final 3 minutes of the game and also hit the game winner with 4.7 seconds remaining. But Meeks wasn't the star of this game . . . all I have to say is thank you Kevin Galloway for fouling Nick Calathes with 0.6 seconds left. Calathes had already scored 33 points and I am convinced he would have hit the 3-pointer had he not been fouled! The foul put Calathes on the foul line where he was 11-12 for the night, but this time the circumstances were different and the result 0-3.
Galloway was also huge in other ways having his best game as a Kentucky Wildcat. The Junior played 25 minutes with 6 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Galloway hasn't had many playing opportunities for the 'Cats but this time he took advantage of that time and provided a spark Kentucky needed!
This win was very important for the Wildcats in many respects. A loss would have been their 4th straight, 3rd at home, and a 5-4 SEC record compared to a Florida 7-2 record. Now Kentucky and Florida are tied atop the SEC East at 6-3. The win is also a quality win over a very good team, which doesn't hurt when trying to get into the NCCA tournament.
