| Boone County and Simon Kenton Girls Advance to Sweet 16 |

The Boone County girls basketball team defeated Newport Central Catholic 45-36 in a hard fought game. The Rebels led the Thoroughbreds 29-26 heading into the 4th quarter where they started to pull away increasing their lead by 11 with about 2 minutes remaining.
Boone County was very strong from the free throw line making 17 of 21 free throws (81%) compared to NewCath's 6 of 11 (55%). Boone County was led by Jacy Bradley with 21 points, and was also named the 9th Region Tournament's MVP.
Simon Kenton also advances to the Sweet 16 as they win the 8th Region Tournament by defeating Anderson County 67-40.
