The Raiders Blast the Pioneers on Senior Night |

This game was almost over as soon as it began. As it was all Ryle Raiders (6-2, 5-0) 42-0 over the visiting Pioneers of Simon Kenton (4-4, 2-3). The Raiders were celebrating Senior Night and were focused to stay unbeaten in District play. Ryle took the opening drive 69 yards, on three plays to score within a minute into the game on the 37 yard scamper by running back Scott Gray.
Simon Kenton tried to answer the call early in the first quarter as they drove all the way down the field to the 10 yard line, but just couldn’t get in the end zone. And this was pretty much the story of the game for the Pioneers as they couldn’t put together a full drive as they made it to the red zone twice, but both attempts led to no points.
The Raiders went on to score on runs of 10 and 15 by Drew Morgan to close out the first quarter. One bright spot for Simon Kenton was their running game, as Brent Bishop and Josh Larkin combined for 225 rushing yards. But on the other side it was even better as the Ryle Raiders racked up 355 rushing yards behind Scott Gray (118 yds.) and Drew Morgan (95 yds., 2 Tds).
Next up for Simon Kenton is the visiting Conner Cougars, and for the Ryle Raiders, they will hit the road to play the Eagles of Scott High School.
