Beechwood, Bellevue, NewCath, Highlands and Simon Kenton are the only NKY football teams left in the Kentucky State Playoffs, and will advance to the Quarterfinals this coming weekend.
In Class 1A, Beechwood will play Bellevue at home for their second match-up of the year. This time the track will be less sloppy as the previous game was held at Bellevue where the muddy field caused over 7 fumbles in the game. Beechwood had won the game 20-8 but Bellevue had a chance to win the game before fumbling and turning the ball over to Beechwood with about 2 minutes left.

In Class 5A, Highlands won again easily over Dixie 49-0 and will now host Johnson Central who defeated CovCath 51-32. The Bluebirds defeated Johnson Central last year 35-21 in the playoffs and this could be the most competitive Kentucky team Highlands faces yet this year.
