Classic Will Feature 6 Interstate Showdowns
Six interstate matchups between teams from Kentucky and Ohio make the Bluegrass-Buckeye Charity Holiday Classic a must-see event for boys' high school basketball fans on Saturday, December 11 and Sunday, December 12 at Northern Kentucky University’s Bank of Kentucky Center.
Proceeds will be donated to local charities, including the Ruth Lyons Children's Fund, Neediest Kids of All and WSNS Academy. There will be prize giveaways, basketball contests and other entertainment for fans during halftime breaks and between games.
Dixie Heights, the top-ranked team in the latest Northern Kentucky coaches poll, will kickoff the classic with a game against Colerain at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
The other highly-ranked Northern Kentucky teams playing in the classic are Covington Catholic (No. 4), Holmes (No. 5) and Ryle (No. 6).
One of the Ohio teams in the BBCHC is Cincinnati Taft, the top-ranked team in the Greater Cincinnati Division II-IV preseason coaches poll. The field also includes three of the top 10 Greater Cincinnati Division I teams -- Princeton (No. 2), St. Xavier (No. 6) and Aiken (No. 9).
