NKY Basketball Heating Up |

It's been cold outside but it's heating up inside for NKY High School Basketball. Last night, the top five ranked teams in Northern Kentucky played and the games were close!
CovCath (#2) lost to Holmes (#4) 64-60. Holmes went into halftime with a 37 to 27 lead but the Colonels bounced back and took their first lead at 50-48 with six minutes remaining to play. The scoring went back and forth between the Colonels and Bulldogs with Holmes coming out on top led by Jaleel Gray with 17 points. CovCath was led by Alex Connelly who scored 22 points.
Next, NewCath(#3) lost to Boone County (#5) 57-55. McQuery and Brown led the Rebels with 17 points each, while NewCath was led by Jake Gielser with 16 points. And lastly, #1 ranked Dixie was upset last night in Overtime by the Scott Eagles 62-60. Scott came into this game ranked #12 in the Enquirer's Coaches Poll and had already lost earlier to Dixie 85-75. The Eagles were led by Kellen Smith's 21 points.

Friday night, the 2nd ranked Colonels face the 3rd ranked Thoroughbreds at NewCath and NKYSports.com will be there to video webcast the game starting at 7:20 P.M.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
The All A Classic for the girls began this week but weather has pushed back some of the games. In the 9th Region, Holy Cross and Beechwood have advanced, and tonight's games feature St. Henry vs NewCath, and Villa Madonna vs Ludlow. In the 10th Region, Calvary plays Brossart and Bracken County faces Silver Grove tonight.
