This week’s Game of the Week features the Simon Kenton Pioneers (4-0) vs. the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds (1-2). The Pioneers come into this game undefeated while the Breds have lost two in a row. Simon Kenton defeated Holmes last week 31-7 in a shortened game due to lightning. NewCath had a bye last week.
Simon Kenton is led by Junior QB Brenen Kuntz who has thrown for 493 yards and 4 TD’s with a completion percentage of 64.9%. NewCath is led by Senior RB Dylan Hayes who has 292 yards rushing and TD’s.

Last week’s Game of the Week saw Cooper defeat Campbell County 27-16. Our Republic Bank Player of the Game was Aaron Morgan who led the Jaguars with 2 TD receptions and an interception. You can see the Replay of the game below.

Conner vs. Campbell County
This should be a very intriguing game as both teams hold similar records. Conner (2-1) was in the driver’s seat last week against Dixie 21-0 at halftime but the Colonels roared back to defeat the Cougars 33-31. Campbell County lost to Cooper last week 27-16. Conner won this game last year 23-6.
CovCath vs. Beechwood
CovCath (3-1) has been rolling behind Senor QB Blake Bir who leads Northern Kentucky in passing with 1,123 yards and 14 TD’s. They’ve outscored their opponents 136-27. Beechwood (1-2) comes into this game after recording their first “W” against Holy Cross last week 54-21. The Tigers are led by Senior QB Cameron Lane who has rushed for 204 yards, 4 TD’s and throw for 232 yards, 3 TD’s. The Colonels won last year 40-28 and have won 6 of their last 7 games against the Tigers.
