Game of the Week Replays
Last week’s Game of the Week featured a double header with NCC vs. Cooper and CovCath vs. Dixie. Cooper got down early to NCC but came back in the second half to defeat the Breds 31-22. Corey Fussinger was our Player of the Game with 67 receiving yards and 1 TD on offense while also recording 4 tackles, 2 sacks and 1 INT.
In the second game, CovCath jumped out to an early 14-0 lead over Dixie but suffered some key injuries in the first half. Dixie came back to make it a 14-13 game but CovCath was able to put one more TD on the board and hold off a late rally from Dixie. Sam Dressman was our Player of the Game as he took over at QB for the injured Adam Wagner and scored CovCath’s final TD. Dressman finished with 99 yards rushing, 28 yards receiving and 1 rushing TD.

Simon Kenton at Conner
The Conner Cougars (1-0) have only played one half of football so far this season (game called to heat vs. Boone County) but Drew Barker has already accounted for 6 TD’s. The soon-to-be University of Kentucky quarterback ran for 2 TD’s and threw for 4 TD’s in last week’s 40-7 win over Boone County.
This week should be a tougher match-up for the Cougars as they play Simon Kenton (2-0) who also has a very good QB in Brenen Kuntz who threw for over 2,000 yards and 19 TD’s last year. Since 2005, Simon Kenton is 6-1 against Conner and the two teams have not played since 2010. The Pioneers will have their hands full with Barker and should be an interesting game to watch.
