Week 9 OMEGA Game of the Week
10/17/2013 - by NKS Editor
This week’s OMEGA Processing Game of the Week features Bellevue (2-5) vs. Ludlow (3-4). Don’t let Bellevue’s record fool you though as they have played a much tougher schedule up to this point against teams such as Walton-Verona, Holmes and Beechwood. Last week, the Tigers lost to Beechwood 56-22 while Ludlow defeated Dayton 46-0. The Panthers have also won 3 straight games.

Bellevue is led by Senior QB Tyler Ackerson who leads NKY in passing yards with 2,199. He’s also thrown 18 TD passes, mainly to his top 2 targets, Blake Stephenson and Zach Poinsett. Stephenson is 2nd in receiving yards in NKY with 715 and 6 TD’s while Poinsett has 593 receiving yards and 5 TD’s. Ludlow will have to stop the passing game of Bellevue for a chance to win this game.

Since 2005, Bellevue is 7-1 against Ludlow, last losing to the Panthers in 2006.

Dixie (5-2) at Simon Kenton (8-0)
First, our thoughts and prayers go out to Dixie head football coach Dave Brossart whose wife, Kristina, passed away to breast cancer on Wednesday. According to NKY.com’s Richard Skinner, it’s still uncertain if he will be coaching Friday’s game. Either way, this will be a very emotional game for the Colonels.

Simon Kenton defeated Boone County last week 55-7 and is 3-0 in the District. Dixie lost to Campbell County last week 16-13 and is 1-1 in the District.

Since 2005, Dixie is 5-3 against Simon Kenton and has won the past two years.

Campbell County (4-3) at Ryle (2-6)
This should be an interesting 6A District matchup this week as both teams hold 1-1 records in the District. The Camels had a big win over Dixie last week while Ryle lost to CovCath 26-17 after leading much of that game.

Ryle seems to be improving each week and their defense will have to key on Campbell County’s Avery Wood. Wood leads the Camels in both rushing and passing with 556 rush yards (5 TD’s), and 861 pass yards (6 TD’s).

Since 2005, Ryle is 8-2 against Campbell County but the Camels have won the past two years.
