10/30/2013 - by NKS Editor
This week’s OMEGA Processing Game of the Week features Dixie (6-3) vs. Cooper (3-6). Both teams ended losing streaks last week with easy wins. Dixie defeated Ryle 42-10 while Cooper took care of Grant County 49-6. Even though this game doesn’t affect their District standings, this will be a good test for both teams heading into week 1 of the playoffs.

Dixie is led by Junior QB Drew Moore who has thrown for 1,193 yards and 10 TD’s along with 769 rush yards and 9 rush TD’s. Cooper is led by Senior QB William Ludwig who has thrown for 1,881 yards and 16 TD’s.

Overall, Cooper is 2-0 against Dixie.

NKYSports.com Replay – Holy Cross vs. NewCath

Holmes (5-4) at Newport (4-5)
This could be one of the most competitive games in Northern Kentucky this weekend featuring Class 4A Holmes against 2A Newport. Holmes is coming off a brutal combo of back-to-back games against Highlands and CovCath. Newport has won 2 straight over District opponents Holy Cross and Lloyd. These two teams have also not played each other in over 8 years.

NewCath (5-4) at Beechwood (6-3)
Even though this is no longer a District game, it’s still a big game to both football programs. This should also be a very competitive game being played at Beechwood on Saturday at Noon. Since 2005, the Breds are 5-4 against the Tigers and won big last year 34-14.

Conner (7-2) at CovCath (7-2)
This is another Saturday afternoon game featuring two teams with 4-game winning streaks. Conner is coming off a big 5A District win over Scott 32-20, while CovCath defeated Holmes with no problems 55-20 last week. Since 2005, these teams have only played twice, and Conner edged out CovCath last year 13-12.
