This week’s OMEGA Processing Game of the Week for the first round of the playoffs features Carroll County (5-5) vs. Newport (5-5). The Class 2A Panthers of Carroll County have won 3 straight games and defeated Dayton last week 42-8. Newport has also won 3 straight games and had a huge win over Holmes last week 21-14.
Carroll County is led by Senior QB John M. Adams who has thrown for 648 yards and 10 TD’s along with 375 rush yards and 5 rush TD’s. Newport is led by Senior QB Charlie Mullins who has thrown for 1,397 yards and 13 TD’s and also run for 323 yards and 8 rush TD’s.
Since 2005, we have no record of these two teams playing each other.

Game of the Week Replay
Last week’s Game of the Week featured Dixie vs. Cooper. Senior RB Darion Washington was our OMEGA Processing Player of the Game as Dixie defeated Cooper 27-7. Washington had 21 carries for 136 yards and 1 TD.

Boyd County (1-9) at Highlands (9-1)
This game’s going to be over early like most of the Birds’ games this year. Highlands is looking for their 7th straight State Title. They defeated Boyd County last year 56-14.
Lloyd (6-4) at Walton-Verona (8-2)
This looks to be a very competitive Class 2A matchup between two Northern Kentucky teams in the first round of the playoffs. Lloyd is coming off a bye week while Walton-Verona is coming off a 23-7 win over Lexington Christian. These two teams are 2-2 against each other and Walton won last year 33-26 in the first round of the playoffs.
Montgomery County (6-4) at Conner (7-3)
Montgomery County has won 4 of their last 5 games as they head to Hebron, KY Friday night to take on Drew Barker and the Conner Cougars. The Indians defeated Rowan County last week 33-14 while Conner lost to CovCath 40-6. Conner had won 4 straight before their loss to CovCath and hope to advance in the first round in this Class 5A game. Conner defeated Montgomery County last year in the playoffs 49-20.
