There are several fundraisers coming up this week in Northern Kentucky and NKYSports.com is always more than welcome in trying to spread the word. Here are some of the events:
Be The Match registry for Evan Scheiner
Evan Scheiner is a preschool student at a local Catholic school and was recently diagnosed with a rare immune disorder, Chronic Granulomatous Disease. This disease affects his immune system and makes him susceptible to infection. Evan is currently taking several medications to prevent illness, but the only real treatment is a bone marrow transplant.
Unfortunately, there were no matches in his immediate family, so the search for a bone marrow is on. Evan's parents are working with Be The Match national registry, and they have scheduled a bone marrow registry event on Novemeber 14, 2013 from 2:30 to 8:30 at Covington Catholic High School.
The testing is simple and easy, just a cheek swab. Those who cannot mke it to the event but who would like to help Evan or others in need of a bone marrow transplant can order an at-home test kit. For more information about being a donor, please go to www.BeTheMatch.org.
80's Charity Bootcamp for the Case Family
Snap Fitness in Hebron, KY is hosting a Fun and Free 80's theme bootcamp on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 9:30 AM for the Case Family.
Mrs. Case works at North Pointe Elementary and her husband was recently diagnosed with a potentially life threatening disease. Snap Fitness of Hebron, KY will be taking donations during the 80's bootcamp so get fit for a great cause!
