OMEGA Processing Game of the Week
9/4/2014 - by NKS Editor
The OMEGA Processing Game of the Week features Campbell County (1-1) vs. Newport Central Catholic (0-1). This game is also part of the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown.

The Camels played a great second half last week against Highlands before falling 23-16 at home. They trailed Highlands 23-0 at the half but answered with 16 points in the 4th quarter but time ran out. Campbell County is led by Sophomore QB Carson Plessinger who has rushed for 281 yards and 4 TDs, and also thrown for 167 yards and 1 TD.

NewCath lost their opener last week to Cooper 31-0. The Thoroughbred offense could never get on track against the tough Jaguar defense. NewCath will need to get Sophomore Jacob Smith on track for this weekend’s game, he only had 29 rush yards last week. Smith accounted for over 1,300 yards of offense and 16 TDs last season for the Breds.

Since 2005, NewCath is 4-3 against Campbell County but have lost the last 2 games. Last year was a close one with the Camels edging the Breds 21-20.

Lloyd (1-0) at Holmes (1-1)
Lloyd won big over Dayton last week 52-0 but will have a lot more competition this week against the Holmes Bulldogs. Holmes defeated Holy Cross 21-7 in game 1 but had their hands full against Scott losing 34-7. This should be a good game to watch. Holmes has won the last 3 games but only defeated the Juggernauts 34-28 last year.

Lloyd is led by RB Justin Durham and QB Hayden Molitor. Durham had 79 rush yards and 2 TDs while Molitor threw for 123 yards and 2 TDs. Holmes is led by RB Delijiah Ross-Tyus and QB DeSean Brumfield. Ross-Tyus leads the Bulldogs in rushing with 173 yards and 3 TDs while Brumfield has thrown for 303 yards.

Beechwood (0-1) at Dixie (0-1)
Beechwood and Dixie are both coming off opening season losses. Beechwood fell to Mount Healthy 40-34 in the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown while Dixie lost to CovCath 41-7. Since 2005, Dixie is 3-5 against the Tigers but won last year 41-20.

Boone County (1-1) at Cooper (2-0)
Boone County scored 49 points in their win over Conner last week (49-26) and it will be interesting to see how they fare against Cooper’s defense who’s only allowed 3 points in their first 2 games. The Jaguars have only allowed 3 points total against Ryle and NewCath.

Boone County’s offensive weapons include RB Jerry Marshall and QB Jamar Lamb. Marshall has rushed for 238 yards and 4 TDs while Lamb has thrown for 349 yards and 2 TDs.

Cooper has had strong performances from their RB/QB due as well. RB Torey Cordell-Armstrong has rushed for 242 yards and 1 TD while QB Billy Prickett has thrown for 252 yards and 3 TDs.

Overall, Boone County is 4-2 against Cooper but the Jaguars have won the previous 2 meetings and won last year 22-7.
