Undefeated Scott Welcomes Winless Holy Cross to Taylor Mill on Homecoming Night |

The Scott Eagles look to carry on with their undefeated ways this Friday night in the school's homecoming game against the winless Holy Cross Indians.
Scott has ridden the wave of its fierce four-headed rushing attack of Roberto London, DaShaun Lunsford, Eli Sowder, and Deondre Pleasant, totaling huge yardage on the ground and pummeling their opposition in the process. The quartet has combined for 759 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in their three games so far this season. For Holy Cross to even remain competitive in this game, they must at least somewhat contain the Eagles running assault or else the game could get out of hand quickly on them.
When the Indians have the ball, it is important that Scott tackles well in order to keep Holy Cross from becoming an upset candidate. Quarterback Hamilton Scott is slippery in the pocket and is mobile enough to hurt defenses when he takes off on scrambles. He has 120 yards rushing so far in 2014. When he needs to throw, however, which has been far too often for the Indians coaching staff's preference, Hamilton Scott has been subject to the turnover, throwing six interceptions on the year while throwing for just one touchdown pass. If the Indians turn the ball over on Friday night, they are sure to find themselves with a sizable deficit on the scoreboard.
Another Holy Cross player that is difficult to tackle is power back Xavier Abernathy. While only accruing 62 yards this season, Abernathy is a wide-bodied, downhill runner that can assist in wearing out opposing defenses with his size and toughness. The problem for Abernathy and the Indians as a whole has been playing from behind all year. Abernathy is not a speedster and doesn't possess the explosive athletic ability that can result in long touchdown runs, so his action has been somewhat limited as a result.
