Williamsburg positioned itself for another blowout, this time at Newport, scoring on its opening drive in just over two minutes. The Jackets (4-0) have outscored their opponents 183-60 this season.
But Newport held tight, cutting an 18-9 halftime deficit, and then getting within three points in the fourth quarter.
One final score by Williamsburg put the game out of reach.
