OMEGA Processing Game of the Week
10/2/2014 - by NKS Editor
The OMEGA Processing Game of the Week webcast features Holmes (1-4) vs. Bellevue (3-3).

Holmes has lost 4 straight games after winning their opener against Holy Cross. Last week the Bulldogs lost to Beechwood 49-7 and it should be interesting to see how they match-up against the Tigers.

Bellevue comes into this game winning two straight, and their opponents haven’t been as tough. Last week they defeated Owen County 52-0.

Holmes will try to stop the passing attack of Bellevue. The Tigers are led by Senior QB Tate Grainger who leads NKY in passing with 1,477 passing yards and 16 TD’s. Bellevue also has 3 receivers with over 20 catches and 275 yards: Zach Barrett (503 yards, 6 TD’s), Nick Ackerson (301 yards, 4 TD’s), and Blake Stephenson (279 yards, 3 TD’s).

Holmes is led by Junior QB Desean Brumfield, Junior RB Andrew Arnold, and Senior WR Fred Vickers. Brumfield has thrown for 939 yards and 3 TD’s, Arnold has combined for 668 rush/receiving yards and 3 TD’s, and Vickers has 26 catches for 497 yards and 3 TD’s.

Since 2005 Holmes is 3-0 against Bellevue and won last year’s game 42-36.

Simon Kenton (6-0) at Campbell County (4-1)
This Class 6A game will be a good one to watch and important to both teams in the District. Simon Kenton had been rolling over teams until last week where they edged Ryle 24-17. Campbell County had the bye last week and their only loss was to Highlands.

Since 2005 these teams are 5-5 against each other and Simon Kenton won last year 55-35.

Beechwood (3-2) at CovCath (3-2)
CovCath is 8-1 against Beechwood since 2005 and they’ll be hungry for a win after last week’s loss to Highlands 42-7. The Tigers took care of Holmes last week 49-7 but will have their hands full this week against the Colonels.
