| Bellevue Hands Holmes Fifth Straight Loss |
|
| Brian Frey - The River City News |
|
The Bellevue Tigers picked up their third straight win Friday night and handed the Holmes Bulldogs their fifth consecutive loss.
Holmes (1-5) got off to a fast start in its effort to end the losing streak, scoring on its first drive with a 23-yard run by Delijah Ross-Tyus. Four penalties by the Tigers for thirty yards helped.
Then Bellevue (4-3) also scored on its first drive, a 4-yard pass to Cameron Chase on 4th & Goal.
The Bulldogs then pushed the ball again deep into Bellevue territory but a Tiger interception in the red zone dashed the Bulldogs chances of scoring. Holmes would score its second touchdown on a 42-yard pass to Andrew Arnold.
Bellevue would add three more touchdowns of its own on plays of 17, 23, and 36 yards, and eventually putting the game away, 32-22.
