Notre Dame Academy beat Newport Central Catholic, 3-0, to win the 9th Region Girls Soccer Championship at Ryle High School Saturday evening.
Notre Dame controlled the ball and field position throughout, tallying many shots-on-goal and putting pressure on the NewCath defensive ranks. The first Panda goal was scored by sophomore Macey Tranter. The next goal was scored by Mandy Arnzen, giving the NDA a 2-0 score at halftime.
The last goal of the game was from Hayley Thompson in the second half.
