Notre Dame Academy has won back-to-back 9th Region Volleyball Tournaments, after sweeping St. Henry in three straight matches in the Championship on Saturday night at Ryle High School.
The Pandas lost in the state finals a year ago.
“I know these kids have some unfinished business from last year, they want to get back to the state finals and I'm just trying to do everything I can to make sure they get back there to finish it,” said head coach Buck McCoart.
The Pandas took care of the Crusaders, 25-18, 25-17 and 25-19, to head back to the KHSAA Volleyball Tournament where they will play Louisville's Sacred Heart on Friday at 2 p.m.
Junior Morgan Hentz was named Tournament MVP who led the Panda with 15 kills.
McCoart was able to advance to the state tournament in his first year with the program.
“It means I didn't screw anything up, and sometimes that's hard to do,” McCoart said when asked what it meant to win the region in his first year.
McCoart would like to see the Pandas clean up their blocking before they face state-tournament competition.
