Grant Co. Visits Latonia, Beats Holy Cross |

Holy Cross lost a winnable home game to Grant County on Thursday night, 63-50, despite maintaining a six point lead at the half.
The Indians looked to be doing fine in the game's early going as forward Tyler Bezold led his team with eight points in the first half in a pretty balanced attack, as seven different players scored in the half for Holy Cross.
When the second half started, though, the Indians folded like a wet napkin and lacked the gumption to withstand a Grant County third-quarter run that would soon determine the outcome. The Braves came out on fire in the third quarter, ripping off 11 unanswered points on the heels of multiple Holy Cross turnovers. Before you knew it, the Braves had racked up four straight steals which all led to easy transition buckets capped off by a Jordan Saylor dunk. Saylor, a 6'5'' senior forward, showed extremely quick leaping ability as he also had a few notable blocks to go with his dunk in the second half.
Holy Cross stopped the bleeding a little in the third quarter by scoring on consecutive trips down the floor, but then quickly resorted to their sloppy ball-handling ways again and gave up three more turnovers to end the quarter. Jared Seibert appeared to be the only capable Indian of making a positive difference for Holy Cross when the going got tough, as he had eight of his 10 points in the last two quarters. Eric Jakubowski made two three-pointers in the waning minutes and finished with a team-high 12 points, but it was too late to make a difference in the most important stat of them all: wins.
