Holiday high school basketball tournaments continue. Here are the results from Sunday:
Traditional Bank Holiday Classic
Covington Catholic 81, Perry County Central 75
Covington Catholic enjoyed a big night from their front court as senior forwards Bo Schuh and Grant Romes had quality outings to help the Colonels get their sixth win of the season, 81-75, over Perry County Central in the second night of the Traditional Bank Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic High School.
Schuh finished the night with a game high 28 points and also had seven assists and six rebounds. Schuh was a perfect on eight of his field goals on the evening, including three from outside the arc. Romes was eight for ten shooting with 16 points and four rebounds. Sophomore guard Cole VonHandorf joined the double-digit club with 10 points.
Junior guard Braxton Beverly had a monster game for Perry County Central with 27 points and 14 assists in the losing effort.
CovCath (6-3) was coming off of a two game losing streak before getting the win on Sunday after dropping games to Boyle County the night before and Knott Central County on December 20. the will play Central on Monday afternoon in the second round of Traditional Bank Holiday Classic.
